Compared with the I/R group, fisetin pretreatment reduced pathological liver damage, serum aminotransferase levels, serum concentrations of IL-1β, IL-18 and TNF-α in the murine IRI model. Fisetin also reduced the expression of NLRP3 inflammasome-associated proteins (NLRP3, cleaved caspase-1, IL-1β and IL-18) in I/R-operated liver. The experiments in vitro showed that fisetin decreased the release of IL-1β, IL-18 and TNF-α, and reduced the expression of NLRP3 inflammasome-associated proteins in H/R-treated RAW264.7 cells. Moreover, fisetin increased the expressions of p-GSK3β and p-AMPK in both models, indicating that its anti-inflammatory effects were dependent on GSK3β/AMPK signaling. We searched PubMed for RCTs published from January 1, 2000, to September 1, 2020, in a representative sample of the top sport sciences journals and identified the sex of first and senior authors through photographs, sex pronouns, Google Scholar, ResearchGate, institutional, or other profiles. This strategy was also used to identify the sex of the editorial board members from the selected journals.
A total of 4841 articles published in 14 journals, and 1446 editors, were analyzed. The average proportions of female first and senior authorship were 24.8% and 16.8%, respectively. The percentage of female first authorship increased by ~0.5% annually (β?=?0.702; B?=?0.46, 95% CI?=?0.24 to 0.68, p?&lt;?0.001) from 2000 to 2020, while the percentage of female senior authorship did not change over time (β?=?0.274; B?=?0.15, 95% CI?=?-0.102 to 0.398, p?=?0.230). Among the editorial boards' positions, 18.3% were occupied by women. None of the editors-in-chief of the selected journals were women.

This study assessed the relation between sprint power and road time trial performance in elite para-cyclists, and whether this relation differed based on impairment type and type of bike used.

During international para-cycling events, 168 athletes (88 bicycles, 17 tricycles, 56 recumbent handbikes and 7 kneeling handbikes) performed 20-s sport-specific sprint tests (mean power output (POmean) W), and their road time trial performance (average speed (km/h)) was taken from the official results. Multilevel regression models to assess the relation of sprint with time trial performance were composed for i. leg-cyclists bicycle and tricycle and ii. arm-cyclists recumbent- and kneeling handbike, adjusted for identified confounders. Furthermore, impairment type (categorized as i) muscle power/range of motion, ii) limb deficiency/leg length difference, and iii) coordination) and bike type were tested as effect modifiers.
